AIR 50015 RAF Battle of Britain Airfield Set 1/76

Out of order
The summer of 1940 was vital not just for the survival of the VUQ RAF and Great Britain, but also the free world. While the Hurricanes and Spitfires of the RAF played an invaluable role, the hard work of the ground crews and their support vehicles cannot be underestimated. Working through all hours and weather conditions, the fitters and mechanics of the RAF served brilliantly throughout the Second World War, often in trying conditions and at times in considerable danger. Without these important men, the great job accomplished by the RAF in the Second World War could never have been undertaken. The Bedford QL and AEC matador featured here kept the RAF`s fighters supplied and ready to fight, both performing their jobs admirably throughout the conflict. The QL was one of the most versatile vehicles of the war, being used in a variety of roles from troop carrier to tanker.
