The T-55 medium tank was one the widespread tanks in the world. It had about 20 modifications and was produced and adopted in many countries. The tank took part almost in every military conflict since the World War II.
The onset of new technologies, devices, equipment, electronics, all that was new as compared with T-54 tank and added challenges and difficulties.
To train drivers, T-55C machine based on T-55A tank was designed. The first variant T-55C1 was a tank without armament with a plugged gun-port. All other components remained unchanged. The second variant T-55C2 was called "Favorit".
Armament equipment was dismantled and a new faceted turret was fitted.
The space freed was used to arrange a place for an instructor with duplicated driver controls. A place for radio station operation training was also arranged.
